UIM International:

UIM International, originally known as United Indian Missions, Inc., was founded to establish biblically-based indigenous churches among Native Americans in the southwestern part of the U. S.  The Holy Spirit soon prompted inclusion of indigenous church-planting among Natives, Mexicans, and Hispanics of all of North America.  Beginning among Navajos, Hualapais, and Havasupais in the U. S. in 1956, the mission expanded to British Columbia, Canada, in 1957 and into northern Mexico in 1963.  Today, UIM’s ministries reach nearly 35 tribal groups in Canada, the U. S., and Mexico as well as Mexican nationals and Spanish-speaking groups within various parts of the U. S.

Over the years a variety of ministries have enhanced the development of churches.  UIM’s camping ministries in Canada, the U. S., and Mexico contribute greatly to church growth, as does the aviation ministry, which has an aviation center in southern Arizona and one each in Chihuahua and Durango, Mexico.  Administrators; a mechanic; an accountant; secretarial, journalism, print shop, and mail room personnel; and a multitude of volunteers are vital team members in UIM’s progress toward reaching the objective of local self-governing, self-supporting, and self-propagating bodies of Christ.

With many targeted groups moving in large numbers to urban areas, UIM is doubling its efforts to place church planters in major North American cities, praying that those who become Christ-followers will take the Good News back to their countries and reservations.  Another urgent area of spiritual need is Central Mexico, with less than two percent of the population of the six states south of Durango knowing Christ as “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

UIM International, an evangelical, denominationally unaffiliated “faith” mission, is governed by a board of directors.  Its policies and directives are carried out through an administrative team.  All funds come from the financial support of churches and individuals moved by the Holy Spirit to be part of this outreach.
